  • Winter Tires: Equip your commercial vehicle with winter tires for exceptional grip on icy and snow-covered roads. Always make sure that tires are properly inflated. Underinflation can cause tire wear and affect handling. 
  • Oil Change:  Your engine oil will thicken as temperature decreases which won’t let the oil circulate well throughout the engine. Oil needs to be changed to a thinner solution in the winter for proper lubrication.
  • Brakes Pad: Make sure the brakes on your vehicles are working and replace them with new versions if they are squeaking or experiencing other issues. Brakes must be checked, and air dried to remove any moisture from the brakes to prevent water from freezing on the lines. 
  • Battery: Cold weather drains batteries fast. Check the age and strength of your battery. Cleaning and securing connections and mounting brackets on your commercial vehicle’s battery, will help avoid breakdowns and being stranded on thee road in the cold. 
  • Engine Heater: Diesel engines require a higher cylinder temperature than gasoline vehicles, they are harder to start in the winter. Block heaters heat the engine coolant while oil pans heat the engine pan and oil, making them a bit more efficient.
